Research
Spatial-Temporal Analysis of Amazon Rainforests
An ArcGIS StoryMap of the Amazon area in Colombia, driven by big earth observation data. Mentored by Dr. Liping Yang, Director of the UNM GeoAIR Lab. Used Python to conduct spatial analysis on large-scale earth observation datasets, and built an interactive JavaScript web map integrating time-series layers to visualize deforestation and socio-economic trends. Received the UNM ASSURE award for this project in February 2024 and presented it at UROC (Undergraduate Research Opportunity Conference) at UNM.
Undergraduate Faculty Assistant — UNM GeoAIR Lab
Conducted literature reviews to support geospatial research and data analysis, analyzed global datasets to identify relevant environmental and geospatial sources, and assisted with geospatial data preprocessing — cleaning, transforming, and organizing data for lab research.
Presentations & Conferences
Work
Professional/Technical Intern — Southwest Environmental Finance Center
Albuquerque, NM. GIS mapping and digitization of drinking water and wastewater systems across New Mexico and other states, following SWEFC standards. Conduct utility system GIS data collection — including supervised fieldwork — and spatial analysis using ArcGIS and Field Maps. Develop digital water and wastewater infrastructure maps across GIS platforms, Google-based maps, and print-ready formats. Support webinars by working with trainers, including chat moderation and launching polls. Contribute to social media and website content sharing water-related news.
GIS Student Tech — Southwest Environmental Finance Center
Albuquerque, NM. Conducted geospatial analysis and mapping with ArcGIS Pro to support environmental decision-making and water management. Georeferenced and analyzed Landsat satellite imagery from Earth Explorer for the Lead Service Line Inventory project on the San Carlos Apache Reservation, Arizona — determining whether homes were built before or after 1970 to assess lead exposure risk.
Cashier / Host — The Range Café
Bernalillo, NM. Greeted customers, handled phone calls and reservation scheduling, and assisted with menu and retail questions.
Service Manager — Chipotle Mexican Grill
Denver, CO. Oversaw restaurant facilities and equipment, fostered a welcoming environment for guests and staff, and strengthened communication between crew members and management.
